Awards and honours

Each year, BSIR awards individuals for their outstanding contributions to the practice. It is our pleasure to announce this year’s honourees.

Gold Medal

This year’s BSIR Gold Medal will be awarded to Dr. Ian McCafferty for his outstanding services to interventional radiology and the BSIR.

Wattie Fletcher Lecture

Honouring the first ever BSIR Chairman, the Wattie Fletcher Lecture is given every year by some of the most prominent IR representatives. This year, the lecture will be delivered by Prof. Tze-Min Wah.

The Wattie Fletcher Lecture and the award ceremony will take place on Thursday, 7^th of November, 17:45-18:30.

Graham Plant Lecture

The Graham Plant Lecture was established in memory of Dr. Plant, a founder of BSIR. Dr. Trevor John Cleveland will give this prestigious lecture this year, titled “Let’s talk about the “C” words.” (Consent and clinics.)
