Active Learning Zone

The Active Learning Zone is a hands-on, phantom-based open access session which will take place on two days, Tuesday 11^th November (14:15-17:15) and Wednesday 12^th November (09:15-12:15).

It consists of a variety of stations offering practical experience in interventional procedures, including most of the following:

• Ablation
• Arterial vessel preparation
• Biliary access and intervention
• Coils embolisation
• Drainage and nephrostomy
• Gastrostomy
• GI stents
• Liquids and particles embolisation
• Nerve blocks
• Paediatrics
• Port-a-Cath and PICC insertion
• Sedation
• Stroke thrombectomy
• Thrombectomy (general)
• Ultrasound guided arterial access and closure
• Ultrasound guided biopsy and drainage

This session is unscripted and does not involve any didactic lectures.

Delegates at all levels of experience are invited to “come and have a play”, particularly medical students, junior physicians and radiology trainees.

Each station will have two experienced operators each, who will explain the procedures and available devices and will answer any queries. Discussion will be guided by the level of experience and the questions of the delegates.
